What you’ll love about air fryer biscuits

How could you not love a warm, perfect biscuit? This was one of the first things I tried making in the air fryer and they turned out great. The ingredients are all kitchen staples so you will probably always have them on hand. Slathered with some jelly they make a great breakfast treat!

Here’s what you’ll need to make them

How to make air fryer biscuits

Whisk flour, baking soda, and salt in a mixing bowl to combine. Add the shortening into the flour mixture and use your pastry cutter to mix. Keep cutting the shortening into the flour until everything becomes very small crumbles.

Mix your milk into the bowl, gently folding so you don’t over mix. Flour your counter surface and rolling pin and roll the dough until its about ½ inch thick. Cut into squares or use a biscuit cutter if you prefer circles. I cut these into about 2 inch squares.

Pop them into the preheated air fryer at 400˚F for about 7 ½ minutes. Remove and allow to cool a bit before serving. If you want, brush them with butter while they are still warm.

FAQs and tips on making air fryer biscuits

Can I use aluminum foil in an air fryer?

Parchment paper is a better option to help with clean up, and believe me it works. Otherwise just cook directly in the basket, it cleans up easily.

How do you make biscuits light and fluffy?

The best thing you can do for the biscuits to be light and fluffy is not over-mixing. The baking powder in the biscuits helps them fluff up as well.

How long do you cook biscuits in the air fryer?

We are going to cook them for just 7 ½ minutes for this recipe, but you can adjust this a bit if you have larger or smaller biscuits.
