Canapés with Smoked Salmon

This modern sushi-like twist on the retro appetizer is smooth and smokey with a subtle horseradish kick. Served on a ritz cracker for a light crisp bite. 


  • 1 cup cream cheese
  • 23 tsp prepared wasabi
  • 4 tsp lemon juice
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 1216 oz smoked salmon
  • 2 tbsp black sesame seed
  • 1/4 cup chopped green onions
  • 1 sleeves ritz crackers


  1.  Combine cream cheese, prepared wasabi, lemon juice, and salt in electric mixer.
  2. Whip until fluffy and place in piping bag.
  3. Layer cracker as follows: cracker, salmon, dollop of wasabi cream. 
  4. Garnish with black sesame seeds and green onions. 


*This will make a lot of wasabi cream, feel free to cut the recipe in half if you are using a hand mixer. It was necessary for using my stand mixer to fill the bowl more.
